A campaign idea is a great start - but without knowing who to contact it can be like shouting in an empty room. That's why it is so important to know how to publicise your campaign, how to attract more people to get involved and where to get specialist help.
Who might be able to help?
NUSU
Your first contact should always be us, here at the Students' Union. We have the time, information and expertise to help you get your campaign underway. E-mail us and we'll do our best to help you out!
Campaigning Societies
There are a number of societies at the Union devoted to campaigning and political activities. It is likely that one of these groups may be interested in helping furthering your campaigning along.
Local/National Campaign Groups
If no society is in place, chances are there will be a charity, pressure group or other organisation based either locally or nationally who will be interested. Here is a list of a lot of charities operating in Newcastle, although the list is by no means extensive. If you need any help contacting anyone, get in touch with us and we'll be happy to help out.
Student/Local/National Media
We have a fantastic newspaper, The Courier, which is full of well informed and enthusiastic debate. This is an ideal forum to contribute something about your campaign and stiumulate debate and awareness on campus. Newcastle also has some local newspapers, such as the Chronicle and the Journal who may be interested to hear from you, especially if your campaign has a local focus.
