► About CDM
The Career Development Module (or CDM) is geared towards students who are existing volunteers, or who are interested in volunteering whilst gaining academic credit.
Here's the who, what, where, when, how and why of the module.
Who: You! If you are a stage 2 or 3 student with optional credit modules
What: Getting out of the classroom and doing something you enjoy for credit. The module offers hands on, practical experience to give your degree the boost it needs.
Where: You choose your placement in Newcastle and local area. We have students that do a variety of placements at community organisations as well as internally at the Students' Union.
When: Start of term 1 (first week of October) through to term 2 (mid-March). You are required to split your 70 hours evenly between the terms. When you attend your placement is flexible around your schedule.
How: Sign up during Module Selection Week, and then come see Elyse about your placement
Why: Learn new skills, do something for the community, gain course credit and make yourself more employable. It's just that simple.
