► Pyramid Club Volunteer

Barnardo’s is a national charity that works with children and young people.
Pyramid works with quiet and withdrawn children in primary schools to build confidence and self esteem. We work with 10 children for 90 minutes a day, one day a week for 10 weeks. 3 volunteers work together planning activities and doing minimal recording. The 10 weeks include a trip, organised by the coordinator, and a party on the last week organised by the volunteers.
 
Recruitment and screening process for volunteers:
Positions available from August to April.
Initial enquiry via email, then completion of a registration form and CRB check. The volunteer will also be required to provide details of two referees.
 
CRB required: Yes
Times you can volunteer (Morning, afternoon, evening): Afternoons for 2 hours between 12.30 and 5pm

Specific skills required:
Reliability, common sense, a desire to work with children, patience, a sense of humour, able to work as part of a team and autonomously.
 
Training required for the role (number of hours, specific times i.e. weekend):
There will be 2 days training, 12 hours over a weekend (TBA), a couple of weeks before the start of the clubs and a further 3 hours planning time and school visit a week before the clubs start.
It is expected that baring an emergency the volunteers will commit to all the training and 10 weeks of the club
