Role Info:

I represent Newcastle University students and promote their best interests both within the University and to external groups that may affect student life here.

If you're studying at Newcastle, I'm often your first point of contact for anything you might need to know about the Student Union (SU) or University - I should be able to help with your query, or introduce you to someone who can.

I'm here to ensure that every student is fairly and individually catered for and that the activities of the SU and University are in line with your wants, needs and interests. This year, we will open our newly refurbished building and hopefully have something on offer that interests you!

Every student at Newcastle University is automatically a member of the Student Union when they arrive, giving you access to our sports clubs, societies, volunteering opportunities, entertainment and social scenes.

I'm looking forward to meeting the students of 2011 so please feel free to give me a shout if you have any issues, or would like to find out how to get involved with anything the SU has to offer.

Latest News and Activities:

Thurs 13th Oct: First Student Council meeting of the year

5pm, Claremont Tower, Lecture Theatre 1.02 - every Newcastle student is invited to hear what the SU is up to and decide on our future policy, be there or be a square...

Tues 11th Oct: Home Made Jam in the Mens Bar

Acoustic music at its best - random Uni students coming along to show off their musical talent. Dragged one of my housemates off the sofa to go with me and now he'd like to go again!

Wed 5th Oct: The first Wednesday AU night - ROAR at Tiger Tiger

Such a great night. Housemates, hockey mates, old and new friends all in one place: makes for some good times.

Fri 30th Sept: Freshers' flu sets in

Well what did we expect when more than 4,000 new people arrive from across the Country and across the World...

Sun 25th - Thurs 29th Sept: Freshers' Week 2011

Plenty of fun had by all on campus, thousands of new friendships made and the new SU building open for business... Seven hours of hockey trials were pretty tough in-between everything else!

Sun 21st Aug: My first freefall sky-dive with our Parachute Club

Exciting times, leaving a perfectly good aeroplane at 4,200ft certainly gives you a buzz - think I'll probably be smiling all week.
