Newcastle University Students' Union is...
![]()
The Students' Union is the social hub of the University. Whatever you need during your time as a student, from a quick bite to eat during lecture breaks, gigs featuring your favourite bands and the odd alcoholic beverage or two, to support and advice, a part-time job, or just a place to chill out with your friends, the Union's got it covered.
Inside its beautiful walls you'll find Mens Bar, Starbucks Coffee, the Union Shop, Sploshh Printing, Santander bank and even a Subway!! Not to mention the Student Advice Centre, Student Community Action Newcastle (SCAN), and much, much more.
The building is owned by YOU, run by YOU and designed to be used by YOU, the student body. The Students' Union is here to represent YOU, and help you have the best time possible at university.
Our Values and Philosophies...
We are an organisation led by our community of students at Newcastle University; we exist to serve this community and recognise that it is made up of various groups based on common interest and common experiences, such as faith, ethnic origin, status (home/overseas), course of study, disability and health; everything we do is based on an assessment of our community’s wants and needs which in turn controls our direction and purpose. In all that we do we look to be democratic, inclusive, responsible, effective, independent and fun.
Our Mission...
Newcastle University Students’ Union works to represent and support Newcastle students in practical ways to enhance their overall student experience. The Students’ Union will work in partnership with Newcastle University, the local community and other organisations to achieve this. We will ensure that students are able to influence change that makes a difference to the student experience.
Our Vision...
To provide a 21st century Students’ Union that meets the needs of the 21st century Student.
