► Why is Representation Important?

With ever-growing numbers in the student body and imminent changes to the fee regime, the issue of student engagement has become a priority for both staff and students.

To enable students to provide and receive feedback on their learning experience, the Student Representation Policy was designed to reflect Newcastle University’s commitment to involvement and engagement.

The successful implementation of the policy indicates to students that their needs and ideas are taken seriously, and that steps are being taken to address the issues raised to ensure the highest quality of student experience.

It also produces engaged, active educational citizens whose contributions to their experience will be of a higher quality as a result, which can only be of benefit to both staff and students.
