► Faculty Reps

Faculty Reps are recruited from the existing pool of Course Reps, to ensure they have previously been elected and that they have experience of a representative role. Candidates complete an application and interview process.

The main responsibilities of the Faculty Reps are:

• To arrange, chair and minute Faculty Forums, which are attended by the students chairs and secretaries of all relevant Staff Student Committees;
• To attend the relevant Faculty Teaching, Learning and Student Experience Committee or Graduate School Committee to provide student feedback;
• To attend Education Executive Committee to give feedback to and receive feedback from the Education Officer.

Faculty Reps are also involved in the promotion of the representation system at relevant events and during key times of the year. In addition they will promote national surveys and help to collate information from SSC annual reports.
To ensure that the Faculty Reps are fully prepared for the role, they receive training from the Students’ Union in conjunction with graduate employers and receive ongoing support through regular one-to -ones with either the Education Officer or the Representation and Democracy Coordinator.
