RAG WEEK EVENTS...

There are six whole days to get involved in RAG week this year, so have a read below to find out about all the great events we have planned for you!

RAG Take Over CCTV @ NUSU – Saturday 28th January...

CCTV, one of Uni-X’s most popular nights is getting involved in RAG in 2012 with one massive pyjama party. Think you’re good at pillow fights? Well, now you can prove your worth like a true gladiator of the bedroom when we bring you our special pillow fighting challenge! Head on down in your most comfortable finery and enjoy a huge night to kick RAG week off in style.

 

Pub Quiz – NUSU Venue, Sunday 29th January, 8:30pm…

Join us for RAG’s unique take on the classic Sunday night pub quiz. Rounds include: Music, party games, “How well do you know Newcastle” and a mystery round to be revealed on the night. Prizes for first, second and third place teams. There is also a raffle for another chance to get your hands on some of our great prizes.

So bring your friends and housemates and come along for some healthy competition whilst raising money for charity. Entry fee £2 per person.

 

 

Toon Treasure Hunt – Monday 30th January, 9pm…

Monday night sees us venture out into Newcastle on a treasure hunt for our shipwrecked committee members! Each team will be given a series of clues to lead them to each committee member, who will be stranded somewhere (most likely in a bar!) in Newcastle. Once you have rescued the first, the team will be given further clues to find the rest of the lost fleet. When all have been safely rescued, everyone will sail to TupTup Place, where £1 will be given to RAG for every person there.

RAG Variety Performance – Tuesday 31st January, 7:30pm...

On Tuesday evening, Venue at NUSU will be bursting with talent from a wide range of performers. There’s something for everyone – pole-dancing, comedy, music and more! This is a great chance to showcase some of the amazing talent Newcastle University has to offer.

Mystery Event – Wednesday 1st February, all day…

RAG like to keep you guessing, and this year we have a fantastic opportunity for a few lucky people. More details to be revealed nearer the time but we can assure you this is not to be missed.

RAG Olympics – Wednesday 1st February, 8pm...

Ever dreamt of Olympic glory? Well you might just have that chance! On Wednesday evening, NUSU RAG are bringing you The Olympic Games (well, our version of!) Represent your AU society, or compete against friends for some great prizes while raising and giving money to charity. Teams will comprise 10 members, and entry fee is £2 per person. The evening’s events consist of some old favourites such as the egg and spoon race, wheelbarrow race and a finale of human hurdles. Athletic fancy dress is strongly encouraged, and once the medals have been awarded, head down to ROAR! at TigerTiger to celebrate your win.

Clothes Swap – Thursday 2nd February, 11am-3pm...

During the day on Thursday there will be a clothes swap happening in Venue of the Union. Bring your old clothes and items you don’t wear anymore, exchange them for tokens and get swapping! It costs £1 per item you bring to take part, and you can bring as many clothes as you like to swap. It’s a great way to re-vamp your wardrobe for 2012 for next-to-nothing whilst raising money for charity.

80’s Roller Disco – Thursday 2nd February, 9pm...

Thursday Night is the last night of RAG week, and we plan finish in style with an 80’s themed UV roller disco in NUSU Venue. Last year’s roller disco was a great success so we are bringing it back and making it bigger and better than before! Pull out your cheesiest moves and most neon of clothing and join us for a night of roller-fun!
