Your RAG Officers...
Each year, two students are elected by the student population, to lead the next year of RAG events. For 2011/12, Sophie Ryan and Georgina Nunan have been elected to make this the best year yet!

Sophie Ryan...
"Hi everyone, I’m Sophie and I am one of the two RAG Organisers for this year. I am in 3rd year and study History of Art and English Literature. I love all things to do with charity and the Students Union and was a supervisor and committee member on RAG last year and loved it that much I wanted to be at the helm this year! I’ve also been on Freshers crew twice and think there is nothing better than working together as a team to reach a common goal! You’ll normally find me in the mens bar and wandering around the Students Union, never be afraid to stop and say hi, I’m usually looking for something to do to distract me from work so Ill no doubt be happy to stop and chat. I hope you enjoy the look of RAG week this year and if you have any questions jut drop us an email at rag@ncl.ac.uk or on facebook at [NUSU] RAG. I’m looking forward to making this the biggest, best and most fun RAG week Newcastle has ever seen!"

Georgina Nunan...
"I am currently in my third and final year as a geography student and have always been interested in charity and fundraising, doing a lot at school.
Throughout my time at Newcastle I have been heavily involved in union activities starting with being on Freshers Crew (which was the best week EVER) before being a supervisor during RAG week last year, and now RAG organiser with Sophie Ryan, which couldn’t be a better way to end my time here at Newcastle."

Alysia...
"Hi I'm Alysia, I'm a third year Biomedical Sciences student. After an amazing RAG week last year, mainly spent performing the infamous call on me dance all over Newcastle as part of Lycra Crew, I decided to help out doing committee this year!
I'm organising the RAG Pub Quiz with my partner in crime Clare Atkinson, so expect terrible Yorkshire accents, general science loving and probably an impromptu trip to sinners!"

Rosie Leatherland...
"My committee role is 'RAG raid officer' - I will be organising raids across the north during the year for all the keen RAG crew members who can't get enough of collecting. You'll know more about raids after RAG week but they mainly involve street collecting, fancy dress and here are Newcastle we like to make them as sociable as possible.
We will be raising more money for the RAG charities but also looking to raid for any charities crew are really passionate about- why stop at just a few? So if anyone is really keen to raise money for their favourite charity I'm the person to get in touch with. Don't be shy, it's all for brilliant causes and is a lot of fun."

James Cross...
"Committee role - Events & General; What I do - Organised the Olympics event with Sally Priddle and helped out with other general RAG related stuff and also a supervisor for RAG week - (not really sure what to say tbh); A little about me - 3rd Year Computer Science (really cool degree)"
