Housing research
If any student's are willing to contribute to this research by the University of Winchester, please follow the links provided. Newcastle University Students' Union are not party to this research and are unable to provide feedback on its findings.
My name is Dr Gary Jones and I am a senior lecturer at The University of Winchester. One of my research areas is student welfare in relation to housing matters. After completing a national survey on tenancy deposit protection with higher-education students, it became clear that there are a number of challenges facing students within the private-rented sector. As a consequence, I am now undertaking an independent piece of research into the experiences of students within this housing sector. Since housing is a key factor towards wellbeing, I believe it is important to build up a better understanding of the national picture. I was therefore hoping that you might be able to promote the survey to your students, which only takes 10-20 minutes maximum to complete. The link to the electronic questionnaire is: http://www.survey.winchester.ac.uk/studentprs . If this is not possible, I completely understand. The survey will remain live until the end of July. Also, I would be willing to forward any publications from the research to you, if that would be helpful.
