The University Chaplaincy is a team of chaplains working together. They are appointed by their faith communities, recognised by the University and are affiliated to the Student Wellbeing Service. They are committed to working with students and staff of different faiths and to making the University a place of religious tolerance and respect.
The Chaplains are all very willing to be contacted, to try to help out in any way they can at any time. If the Student Advice Centre is closed and you wish to talk to someone or just want someone to listen, then the Chaplains are more than happy to help. Your Welfare and Equality Officer Katy Hargreaves is available during office hours to offer advice or assistance if needed. You can contact Katy by email or drop in to her office 2nd floor of Students Union, Park Terrace.
Student Wellbeing Service
The Student Wellbeing Service is available during office hours. Pease contact for information, advice and support on a wide range of student support issues such as counselling, mental health, disability, dyslexia, faith, finance, healthcare and general wellbeing. Their services are available throughout the year and are completely confidential and free of charge. They are open 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday.
Streetwise
Streetwise is a free young people's advice, counselling, sexual health and support service. You can receive free confidential advice and information about sexual health, pregnancy, mental health and general health. Streetwise is open 6 days per week and offer a friendly drop-in service.
However, counselling is by appointment only.

NHS Direct offer health advice and reassusrance 24 hours a day, 265 days a year. If you are feeling unwell please call 0845 4647.

Nightline is a confidential listening and advice service run for students, by students. It runs form 8pm to 8am every night of term.
You can contact Nightline for any type of issues whether you need information about where to go out to, taxi numbers or takeaways or whether you just need somebody to talk to about whatever is on your mind.
