Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer.

They are a source of support: providing practical, medical, emotional and financial support, not only for the patient but also for their family.
They are a force for change, listening to people affected by cancer and working together for better cancer care.
Their many services include specialist nursing care, information centres, cancer care centres and grants to help with the unexpected costs of living with cancer.
Macmillan Cancer Support is looking for:

Macmillan representative - Attending local fundraising events as a Macmillan representative.
Talking about Macmillan to the local community. Giving presentations to local groups/schools Promoting events.

Fundraising supporter Group -Setting up a new group and planning events. Organising and promoting fundraising events and collections. Collecting funds on behalf of the Charity, acting as an ambassador for Macmillan through building community networks. Distributing promotional leaflets, collecting and delivering Macmillan merchandise to local supporters.

Collector - Taking part in annual and one-off collections. Regularly collecting tins from shops etc.

Events assistants - Macmillan needs volunteers to help their events run smoothly. They run a wide variety of events ranging from abseils and bike rides to golf days and coffee mornings.
They especially need volunteers to take part in their supermarkets collections at Tesco stores on 16th, 17th and 18th October 09 & Morrison stores 7th – 13th December 09.
Skills Acquisition: meet new friends, learn new skills or make use of existing skills, be part of a team and make a difference to people living with cancer.
