► Pendower Gardening Project

Where : Pendower (West End of Newcastle)

When : Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (times to suit).

What : This scheme is aimed at helping elderly residents of the Estate to re-design, maintain and tend their gardens. The scheme has targeted a number of households where age and ill-health mean that people are struggling to keep on top of their garden. You will be working with a professional gardener, and tasks will include everything from general weeding, hedging, mowing etc to more advanced work such as gate-hanging and pond construction.

No experience is required, as you will be supervised at all times by the Gardener. This is a fairly flexible opportunity: timings can be arranged between the volunteer and the Gardener.

Training/Expenses : Pendower Good Neighbours Project will cover travel expenses.
