► Rugby League North East

Rugby League North East has a number of Rugby League clubs throughout the region which aim to promote the game of Rugby League. Through these clubs we look to provide a variety of opportunities ranging from administration to media to first aid. We also provide ongoing support and training for all volunteers.

Volunteer Roles:

Club Administrator – Deal with all communications to the club, transfers of players, insurance documents, minutes of meeting etc
Club Development Officer - responsible for introducing the club and the sport to the local community so that the membership of the club continues to grow and the sport flourishes.

Club Welfare Officer - responsible for the implementation and adherence to the RFL Child Protection Policy and its resulting guidelines by the club and its members.

Ethics and Equity Officer –responsible for the implementation of and adherence to the RFL Equity and Ethics policy and its resulting guidelines within the club and amongst its members

First Aider - Holds the standard certificate of first aid issued to people working as ‘First Aiders’ under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

Coach Coordinator - responsible coordinating all coaching activities in the club.

Fundraiser - Develop a fundraising strategy for raising money through sponsorship, ticket sales and grants. Organise event fundraising.

Marketing Manager - responsible for marketing the club to the wider community by the effective utilisation of a number of different media channels.

Media Relations Officer - responsible for ensuring that the club receives the widest possible media coverage and promoting good relations between the club and the community

Registration and Fixtures Administrator - responsible for the registration of players and members of the club and ensures that the fixtures of each team are confirmed and a fixture list is established for each season

Sport Physiotherapist - responsible for helping players to operate at peak performance and fitness levels and giving them advice on injury prevention and recovery from injuries.

Coach - Qualified to level 2 UKCC (or working towards) Understanding of the RFL Child Protection policy, club’s Equal Opportunity Policy and the relevant code of conducts. Emergency first aid holder

Volunteer Coordinator - responsible for recruiting, managing and providing training to all of the club’s volunteers, ensuring that all are aware of their own responsibilities and happy and able to carry them out.

Website Manager - responsible for maintaining the content of the club’s website to meet the need of the members and the supporters.

Touchline Manager - responsible for upholding the Code of Conduct at Club games and working with the Referee to ensure that the game runs smoothly.

Opportunities available at various locations throughout the North East including; Gateshead, Durham, Jarrow, Newcastle, Whitley Bay, Bishop Auckland.
