What: FoodCycle engages with and educate youth volunteers to start their own projects. This gives them the ability to start links with supermarkets, farmers markets etc to use their surplus food. This food is cooked in unused kitchen spaces to provide nutritious, three-course vegetarian food for anybody who suffers from malnutrition!
Volunteer Role:
1. Role 1 Project Leader
• Coordinating volunteers for the collecting, cooking and serving
• Organising community fundraising events to fund the project
• Connecting and maintaining relationships with food suppliers, volunteers and beneficiaries
• Spreading the news about the great work that you’re doing.
• Event planning on and off campus
• Advertising and marketing skills
• The management and logistical coordination skills to cook for 40-80 people.
• There is no specific location yet because one of the initial tasks is to find a kitchen space.
2. Role 2 General Volunteer
• Collecting, cooking and serving food
• Helping with the organisation of community fundraising events to fund the project
• Spreading the news about the great work that you’re doing.
Skills/benefits/experience:
Full training in marketing, fundraising, food safety level two, volunteer management, team building and nutrition is provided initially and other training opportunities will be made available throughout the year. Each project will be assigned a project manager, who will support the project.

• The management and logistical coordination skills to cook for 100 people.
