Get Involved with the Late Shows 2012!

The North East's fantastic 'Museums at Night' event is set to return on the 18th and 19th May 2012 when popular venues in the Newcastle, Gateshead and Ouseburn area open their doors to culture seekers on this yearly after-hours event. This year we are expecting over 50 venues to take part, making this the biggest Late Shows event yet!

Venues involved in the evening are asked to programme an event of activity that would be different to their normal offering, and over the years we've seen everything from interactive art, demonstrations and workshops, exhibition previews, live music and DJs and artist talks.
We are putting a call out for people to volunteer as event stewards and orientation guides during these evenings. We will be needing volunteers in all of the participating venues.

Duties will include meeting and greeting visitors, handing out glowsticks and programmes, providing information on participating venues and bus stops, and to be the welcoming face of your venue! You may also be asked to assist with learning or other activities, depending on where you are based.
We are asking volunteers to stay from 7pm -11pm, transport home will be provided for those who need it.

Volunteers should be friendly, approachable and be willing to help people, though this could also be an opportunity to increase your confidence when talking to new people!

If you'd be interested in being a part of the Late Shows 2012 or would like more information about the roles, please contact us at: thelateshowsvolunteers@twmuseums.org.uk with your expression of interest and we will get back to you.

You can find out more about the Late Shows 2012 at: http://www.thelateshows.org.uk
