So what exactly is Shared Interest?
We are an ethical investment co-operative. We lend money to fair trade businesses in the developing world.
Shared Interest is annually lending over £33 million and is working in 36 countries around the globe. Our headquarters are in Newcastle upon Tyne, and we have offices in Costa Rica, Kenya and Peru, and continue to be the world's only 100% fair trade lender.
Our role in the fair trade movement is crucial, but we couldn't do it without our supporters.
What can I do?
It all depends on what floats your boat
From marketing events to actually staffing them, writing an article for a community newsletter to simply stocking a local cafe with flyers, the opportunities to get involved vary wildly according to individual interests and personal commitments.
We provide ambassadors with a resource pack to support them in whatever activities they choose to undertake.
All ambassadors have the full support of a dedicated team based at head office. In addition to regular updates via email and text, ambassadors are also invited to training days that are held across the UK.
Shared Interest ambassadors are hugely important to our organisation as they help raise awareness and encourage investment.
