Windband Society
President: Sophia Carbutt
Brief Description of Society Activities
The Newcastle University Windband is an ensemble designed to allow musicians to come together and play fun, familiar music. We do a couple of concerts a year, and our last concert included music from 'Les Miserables' and 'Pirates of the Caribbean' alongside other well known classical music and folk songs.
We meet once a week for a rehearsal, meaning it is a small time commitment and are open to musicians from all courses. There are no auditions - each instrument has different parts with varying levels of difficulty. So if you're interested, either contact us, or come along to a session and hopefully be persuaded to join!
