Esta Innes- 2012/13 Welfare & Equality Officer

Hi I'm Esta and I was voted in by the Students here at Newcastle University to represent every single one of you on wellbeing issues. I can offer support and information on anything from sexual health, mental health, questions on housing and finance, to help if you feel like you have been discriminated against or victimized.

I am here to listen and help with any issues you may have and everything you discuss with me is 100% confidential. I have an open door policy and specific drop in hours 12-2 every Wednesday! Any issue big or small will be dealt with seriously and I will point you the right direction of any support, or services you may require.

I will also be responsible for running the welfare campaigns around campus. For example, our annual sexual health awareness campaign SHAG week, mental health awareness week, safety campaigns like 'Not if but When' and stressed out students campaign January and May/June. There will be lots of other campaigns throughout the year and volunteers are always welcome so feel free to contact me if you would like to participate in any of our campaigns or take a look at the pages on the right hand side for more info.

I want to make sure every student has an equally amazing time at university so please do not hesitate to get in touch!!

Welfare Bear!

This is welfare bear, he helps man my desk when I'm away and loves campaigning on all things welfare related. He will be out and about all year with me all year getting involved in campaigns and giving out free hugs to anyone in need! show him some love my adding a #welfarebear on the end of your tweets to me!
