Viva equality, viva comrades! We deserve it because better wellbeing and equality is better for everyone.

My name is Alex and I’m running to be your next Welfare & Equality Officer. Comrades challenges are my challenges! All students should enjoy campus life to the fullest. I will strive to ensure that all students receive the best services while in campus. This will be through fighting any form of inequality and discrimination in our campus. I need your votes to achieve this:

Student Equality & Awareness

  • Increase the support given to students who are differently-abled and ensure they receive tailored support.
  • Increase the support offered to societies and peer to peer programs
  • Ensure a follow up is done on welfare issues

Alcohol, Drugs, and related substances

  • Availability of amnesty bins around campus including residences
  • Increase channels for student support in campus

Sexual Health

  • More accessibility and regular clinics and drop-in sessions at the Students’ Union and around residences
  • Advocate for access to free sanitary towels and condoms through vending machines in campus (or reduced prices at our CO-OP)

Welfare

  • More robust up-to-date information available to students; life skills, financial, and physical wellbeing
  • Liaise with the administration to allocate more money to mental wellbeing and related support in campus
