Contribution to the Workplace Awards

The Contribution to the Workplace Awards celebrate students who have made a real impact on an organisation whilst on their placement year, on an internship or whilst working here on campus.  As such, the employer, as opposed to students, will be nominating for these awards.

This award recognises undergraduate students who have exceeded the expectations and requirements of their role whilst on a registered placement year within a business of 250 or less employees as part of their course. Only undergraduate students on a registered placement year in 2018/19 or 2019/20 are eligible for this award.

This award recognises any student who has exceeded the expectations and requirements of their role whilst undertaking a piece of paid work on campus for any duration during the period 15th June 2019 – 1st April 2020. Both undergraduate and postgraduate students are eligible for this award.

This award recognises any student who has exceeded the expectations and requirements of their project or role whilst on an internship for any duration during the period 1st March 2019 – 1st April 2020. The internship could have taken place during the academic year around their course or during a vacation period. Both undergraduate and postgraduate students are eligible for this award.

Please note: you may wish to nominate your on-campus worker under the ‘Intern of the Year’ category. To help you decide which category is most appropriate, an internship should offer graduate level experience, will typically not be a primarily administrative role, and will usually involve the use of specialist skills or require a high level of autonomy or responsibility. Examples of tasks that might be included in an internship include event organisation, research, data analysis, IT development or project management.
