BAME Blood Drive: Will you donate?
Meet at the Students' Union front entrance
Did you know...
Giving blood saves lives and the blood you give is a lifeline in an emergency and for people who need long-term treatments like those with sickle cell and thalassemia. In order to meet the needs of all patients in England, the NHS needs donors from all communities and ethnic backgrounds to donate blood. The best blood type match typically comes from blood donors from the same ethnic background. But, In the UK fewer than 5% of NHS blood donors last year were from Black, Asian, and minority ethnic communities.
What are we doing?
We are hosting student blood drives throughout the year with our first at Newcastle Blood Donor Centre on the INSERT of October. Meeting at the Students Union entrance we will walk to Newcastle Blood Donor Center and return back to uni for a snack after.
Times throughout the day to be announced closer to the time. For more information contact Briana at email@example.com
