Students' Union AGM & Student Council

History Room, Students' Union (Floor 2)

Key Documents

Attend the AGM (10th Feb)

The Students' Union's AGM (Annual General Meeting) will take place on Thursday 10 February & will be followed immediately by the February Student Council meeting. All students automatically become members of their Students’ Union when starting university (unless you were to opt-out) and therefore you are all welcome to attend the AGM.

This meeting is the perfect opportunity for you to hear the annual report from the SU President covering all of last year’s activities, finances, and accounts. You will then have the chance to raise questions on any of the details of the report before the reports are put forward for approval. You can view the report in advance below, along with other key documents.

The meeting will be held in the History Room at NUSU or you can join via Teams if you prefer. If you would like to attend virtually, please email Angela for the Teams link.

Attend Student Council (10th Feb - after the AGM in the History Room)

Student Council is key to decision making at NUSU, and it’s where you get to help shape how your Students’ Union is run. Not only does Student Council decide some of the campaigns and events that we run and support, but it’s also where we decide on changes to our policies, our constitution, or the major issues we raise to the University! You can also keep up-to-date with what your elected Sabbatical Officers are up to and scrutinise the work that they do.

Whilst anyone can attend Council to voice their opinions, you are all welcome to come along and listen/have your say. There are also voting places - these places get to cast their vote on the motions being presented to Council that month. If you want to have a voting place, you can sign up here.

Want to be involved in student representation?

If you're interested in getting more involved with the Students' Union and student representation next year, don't forget to check out what roles we have available in the upcoming Student Elections this March. Alongside Chair of Council and Chair of Scrutiny, there are loads of paid and unpaid roles for you to nominate yourself for here
