Meet outside the Newcastle University Students Union front entrance
Ever fancied trying archery? Or maybe you did it once as a child and suddenly feel the urge to see if you're miraculously better now? Well come along to this session, ran by Newcastle University Archery Club and we'll coach and support you through a taster!
The session will be 3 hours with a mandatory break about halfway through. You are welcome to as many breaks as you want/need around this as well. The session will involve a brief safety briefing, followed by coaching in small groups of 2 or 3. You will get to learn to shoot a recurve bow in barebow style and will see other bow types and shooting techniques in a short demonstration whilst learning a little more about the differences during the break.
Some light refreshments will be provided and we'll play a few archery games to wind down the session before walking you back to the metro for what is usually a rather relaxing afternoon!
This session will be outside weather permitting. In the event of high winds or rain, we will move the session to our indoor range. Both venues are at Longbenton Sports Ground.
