Learn how physical exercise can improve mental wellness. Go for a run or take part in the ‘Cell Block’ Workout.

Run with Watch Your Head

  • Meet outside the Students' Union at 3pm for a run to relieve some stress

Borrow Bessie (the dog)

  • Bessie is the Student Health and Wellbeing dog and you can book an hour to go for a walk with her.

Cell Block Workout

  • Time: 12:30pm
  • Where: History Room, L1
  • Cell Workout is an award-winning exercise program designed by LJ Flanders, an ex-prisoner who wrote the Cell Workout Book in HMP Pentonville as a means to maintain his health and wellbeing during his sentence.
  • The Cell Workout book was published in 2015 and has been so successful it has formed the basis of an intensive two-week coaching program helping and motivating prisoners to improve their fitness, nutrition, and personal wellbeing, which LJ developed and piloted in Wandsworth in 2017.
  • LJ is bringing his Cell Workout program to university students so come spend a two-hour session with a fully trained personal trainer! Come along and compete with your friends on a fitness assault course to win a signed copy of the Cell Workout Book!

  • Time: midday onwards
  • Where: Luthers' Bar, Students' Union
  • Boccia (pronounced bot-cha) is a Paralympic sport and is similar to bowls. 
  • Come along to have a go with AU Officer, Joe Gubbins.
