RAG Weeek 2020: Battle of the Bands

Venue, Students' Union

For the first time ever, RAG week will feature a showcase of some of the best bands from Newcastle, battling it out for the glory!

A fun filled 8 piece Ska-Punk band, ready to blow the crowd away with their funky FAT tunes, spreading the good vibes throughout RAG week!

The Samphires
A young and up and coming three piece all female alternative rock/indie band, these girls will blow you away with their fantastic art rock influence and fantastic musicality throughout their charming songs.

Born in the 2000s, but with the charm of the 1990s, Runt are another young band featuring an all star lineup of some of Newcastle's best musicians. They've only been gigging for a year or so, but they pack a fat sound, not one to be missed

David Anderton
Gruff, protest filled folk punk by Father David, one of Newcastle's best kept secrets. With a voice so powerful and venom in his tongue for injustice, this acoustic act will be one to get the crowd going.

We will also have Jenni-Mae Wardman singing some opera between our acts!

Entry to the event will be £4 for crew members and £5 for general entry and after our event we will be heading too Soho and then Pink rooms and Powerhouse.

The bar will be cash only, and 50p of every diesel sold at the bar will go to our charities for the week!

The money that you raise at this will be going towards StreetZero and Rape Crisis Tyneside and Northumberland, Campaign Against Living Miserably and Solving Kids Cancer, Anti-Slavery International and Women For Women.
