Employability and Third Sector Jobs

Online

Student Hubs works with 1800+ students across five universities to source social action projects, get students involved in practical volunteering, and support students to generate their own ideas for community projects.

In this 50 minute session and following requests from Student Hubs student volunteers, our trainer Fiona will be providing advice and guidance on applying for jobs as a university student or graduate, developing your employability, how to reflect on your volunteering experiences, and job interviews, as well as guidance on applying for roles in the third sector.

Fiona works as their Sales Director and has experience as a hiring manager, reviewing job applications and conducting interviews. Most recently she supported the virtual recruitment process of roles in the Kingston Hub and Cambridge Hub during the pandemic.

Please note: This session should be a starting place for thinking about employability, however we strongly encourage you to see your university's Careers Service (even if you are a graduate), as they will be able to provide individualised and tailored support for continuing your employability journey and job searching.

To sign up please email Becky with your name, 9 digit student ID and university email address to volunteerpw4.union@ncl.ac.uk
