Newcastle University Fashion Society is Newcastle’s answer to the multifaceted Fashion industry. With no fashion degrees on campus, NUFS allows its members to delve into the world of fashion through modelling opportunities, photography, videography, blogging, content creation, weekly sewing lessons and socials.

The society provides an opportunity for members to meet like-minded fashion enthusiasts and learn valuable new skills. As one of the largest societies on campus, NUFS hosts a variety of inclusive events including one of the biggest events on the university calendar, the NUFS Annual Fashion Show.

Melanie Kyles is an embroidery artist based in Newcastle Upon Tyne, bringing together contemporary craftsmanship and sustainable fashion with her original designs and hand-crafted creative expression. Using carefully sourced materials with minimal environmental impact such as GOTS certified organic cotton and surplus fabrics, she will be selling a range of hair accessories, embellished vintage berets, customised organic/pre-loved clothing and hand-embroidered patches, each one hand-finished and unique. Melanie will also be offering a pop-up service of hand-embroidered monograms and zodiac symbols from £3 per character with a large range of colours to choose from, so don’t forget to bring along any early Christmas gifts or clothes you’d like to be personalised!
