NUSU Participation Bursaries - applications closed 
 

Are you planning on joining or have already joined a club or society this year? If so, you may be eligible for a £200 cash bursary to help towards covering the costs of getting involved - everything from sports centre/gym membership, through to kit and social activities.

Please note the bursary is only available to first year undergraduates.


Eligible students are 2017 entrant UK undergraduates undertaking Stage 0/1 studies who also meet at least one of the following criteria:
 

  • Receive an Opportunity Scholarship from Newcastle University for stage 0/1 studies in 2017/18.

  • Home Postcode - to be eligible you must live in a neighbourhood that has a low progression rate to higher education or has a high level of financial, social or economic deprivation.

  • Living independently of your parents/guardians due to a breakdown in relationship/estrangement. 

  • Have spent time in Local Authority Care for at least three months in the past 10 years.

  • Helps to look after a family member or friend who has a long term illness, disability, mental health illness or addiction who couldn’t manage without their support.

  • Have a disability/long-term health condition and are in receipt of the Personal Independence Payment (PIP).
