Rebecca Bainbridge
Activities Officer

Hi, I’m Rebecca Bainbridge and I am your Activities Officer for 2017-18.

I look after all things societies at the Students’ Union. If you’re looking for ways to meet new people, enhance your CV or just have fun, societies and volunteering are great ways to start. We have a range of opportunities on offer, such music, theatre and dance societies, political, religious and cultural societies and many charity and fundraising societies. I think it’s almost impossible to not find a society that suits you at Newcastle, but if you can’t, set up your own- it’s that easy!

From Debating to DJ'ing, Erasmus or Baking, Newcastle University Students' Union has a wide range of societies, who are always looking for new members to join them. What's a society? It's where a group of like minded students, with a common interest, get together, hold meetings, host events, and fill there spare time, meeting new friends. For a full A-Z list of societies, simply click the button below, and get signed up!

Got your own idea for a society? Great! We're always keen to see, and help, students set up their own societies, and make a great success of it. In recent times, we've seen the creation of the A Cappella society who are doubling their numbers each year, and we'd love to see a wider variety of hobbies and interests bringing students together. Not to mention, it looks great on the CV! For a full list of documents on creating and running your society, click the button below, and get in touch if you need any help!

Finally, we've started opening up the Union's communications to help your society advertise itself. So if you want your poster on the digital screens, or on our Facebook and Twitter pages, just head on over to our 'Promote' page, and we'll put you in touch with over 22,000 students.
