Brief Description of Society Activities
An opportunity for those interested in scrapbooking and related crafts (such as card making, calligraphy and painting) to learn new crafting skills through our weekly tutorial sessions (via an online course or in-person instructor) and to chill out and make new friends in a safe and relaxing environment.
There will be weekly drop-in sessions where students can come and go, taking a moment to de-stress and work on their craft. All of these will be highly accessible, even to the student working at home because all tutorials will be made available online after the fact, and the drop-in allows for flexibility around the timetables of all students. There will also be socials every week, the majority of which will be sober, providing more memories to make and add to a personal scrapbook. Ideas include trips to a teahouse, picnics in the park and a coffee crawl. All of these socials will be local and easy to get to on foot or via public transportation. Having developed our skills and passion for them, we as a society will also work on producing art to raise funds for charity as well as few other community based projects
Meeting Days, Times and Venues
Twice weekly for two different types of sessions. Once on Wednesday afternoons in a room on campus for people to take part in our tutorial sessions (time TBD) for approximately one hour. Once per week for our drop-in crafting sessions (3 hours on one afternoon per week which will change week to week). Occasionally these sessions will be held off-campus, in a public park or beach, weather and safety permitting. Students of all ability, experience or skill will be able to take part.
