Brief Description of Society Activities

Catholic society is a faith community where everyone is diverse and encouraged to socialise with other students whether about faith, life, school work and other meetings outside the chaplaincy.
The society has joined with the local parish at St. Andrews and every Sunday there would be mass at 6 pm and followed by social time, students are welcomed to join the weekday mass. Every week on Wednesday there would be a meeting to explore faith as a subject and during term time social committee would help to arrange social events in order for students to make new friends and felt at home in Newcastle.
The chaplaincy also held two big social events during the year, on the first semester 2 days and 2 nights trip at Wooler for a group of students to socialise and do fun activities outside of Chaplaincy. On second semester 2 days 2 nights trip at Holy Island for a group of students to socialise and explore faith. The Catholic society is part of the Chaplaincy and Roman Catholic Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle with both Fr. Andrew and Mia offer pastoral and spiritual support
