Newcastle University First Aid Society is a society that works closely with the Northumbria University First Aid Society, within the society we also have an operational St. John Ambulance unit – however membership of the unit is not required to join our society.
We provide relaxed weekly sessions where we provide training to members in useful first aid skills, as well as hosting talks from external organisations such as the police, North East Ambulance Service or mountain rescue. Members also have the option to undertake additional training to join St. John Ambulance as an Operational First Aider, where they would have the opportunity to attend both local and national events providing first aid cover – however if this doesn’t sound right for you then please feel free to just come and learn life-saving skills and make new friends!
We also have opportunities for society members to use their first aid skills to provide informal training sessions for other societies and students.
We meet every Thursday 7pm-9pm for our first aid session, after this we also have a non-first aid related social, either at a pub or other venues in Newcastle.
As we work closely with Northumbria University, venues alternate weekly between Newcastle and Northumbria University campuses.
