The Newcastle Wilderness Medicine Society aims to promote an interest in the outdoors alongside teaching skills such as assessing and treating casualties in remote and challenging environments.
We run numerous trips both locally and further afield. Joining the Society is a great opportunity to meet other fun and enthusiastic people and to get out and explore our fantastic country. We also organise a variety of activities including climbing, orienteering, cycling and canoeing throughout the year.
All Newcastle University students are welcome - not just medical students!
The best way to keep informed of what's coming up is to get on the mailing list by contacting a committee member or joining our Facebook group. We offer a wide range of activities; whether it is a weekend away, a day trip, an evening's activity or a lecture from an Expedition medic at the University there is always lots going on for everyone to enjoy.
