Here at Newcastle University Archery Club, we welcome those who have never picked up a bow and arrow in their lives, all the way to the very experienced archer - shooting competitively and just for fun!
At our range, we shoot indoors at 18 metres and outdoors at up to 90 metres. Currently, due to COVID-19, we will only be shooting outdoors during Semester 1 following social distancing guidelines as stipulated by ArcheryGB.
Beginners courses are held several times throughout the academic year to help coach those who are new to the sport – after the 4-week course, you will become a novice archer, receive a certificate of your training, and be able to shoot at the range during the scheduled sessions! Details on how to sign up for these will be given through our weekly email.
For those archers wanting to shoot competitively, we have various competition opportunities for you, ranging from local friendly competitions to NEUAL (Northern England University Archery League), and even BUCS (British University and Colleges Sport).
The club has a lot in store for 2020-2021, including various socially distanced socials like Quizzes, themed fun shoots and more! So, come along, have a go, meet some new people, and have a great time at Newcastle University Archery Club!
If you are interested in joining the club, please get in contact with our Club Secretary, Francesca Perocheau, by email at archery@newcastle.ac.uk prior to purchasing memberships.
