We are a friendly, welcoming club who have lots to offer, for the most dedicated paddlers through to our to more social members!
Most of our new members have never paddled before yet have the opportunity to paddle on some of the UK’s best white-water rivers, train and even win medals in BUCS competitions, racing in boats they had probably never heard of.
Join us for a busy year of recreational trips, heading to rivers across the UK on daytrips, weekends and a longer period over Easter.
We have lots of regular activities on over the week, which are all totally optional and include pool sessions, morning and evening training at our boathouse on the Tyne, training sessions on local rivers and the barrage (an international white-water course in Middlesbrough) and socials every Wednesday.
The Clubs social scene is a huge draw for many of our members, where we have loads of fun all year round with the usual sports club nights out, alongside a range of other drinking and non-drinking socials.
We offer training on Tuesday and Friday mornings, which is held at Newburn Water Sports Centre.
Our pool sessions are held on Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00pm at Heworth Leisure Centre. Here we develop our skills as well as practice Canoe Polo.
On Wednesday afternoons we have training sessions at various locations such as Prudhoe or the Tees Barrage White Water course in Middlesborough.
No previous experience is required- all abilities are welcome. Must be able to tread water for a minimum of 60 seconds and swim 2 pool lengths (50m). All kit and coaching needed will be provided.
You need to be a member to claim expenses against this Society.
