We meet once a week for 2 hours and sessions start with a warm up (usually consists of running around, some running-based games then stretching). We then work on basic skills or practise progressions for more difficult skills under the direction of the coaches. This usually takes us to about halfway through the session, after which we tend to work on skills on the apparatus (usually in different groups according to skill level), then have around twenty minutes/half an hour of time in which we can practise whatever skills we want to, with the coaches on stand by if we need any help. After this we do conditioning then a cool down stretch.
Sessions are held on Wednesday afternoons (currently 2-4pm) at City of Newcastle Gymnastics Academy. There are no pre-requisites for joining - any skill level is acceptable (from complete beginner) and the sessions are tailored around a variety of levels.
