Jiu Jitsu is a traditional self-defence martial art based around using throws, joint locks and strikes to control an opponent and take them to the floor.
We are a friendly club that welcomes everyone from beginners level and upwards, and new starters are accepted at all times throughout the year.
For those interested in representing Newcastle University at a national level, you will have the opportunity to do this with our club as Jiu Jitsu is a BUCS sport with two National Competitions every year.
It costs £40 to join our club for the full academic year, which includes the cost of a gi (training uniform) and your membership with our sport's governing body. All 3 sessions each week are open to all members, so come along and get involved as much as you like!
