What we do:
Competitive Riding (selected teams who take part in regular training sessions and competitions against other universities)
Social Riding Lessons (open to all abilities)
Other fun activities such as; Beach Rides, Mounted Games, Hacks etc.
Weekly fun social events for all club members
Our training and social riding take place at Washington Riding Centre
No previous experience is needed for social lessons (everyone is welcome!) and riding hats can be borrowed from the riding school, but appropriate outdoor sports wear is essential.
Canter control is needed for more advanced activities, such as beach rides and mounted games etc
Experience is needed to be selected onto the teams. Please note: if selected you are required to attend training every week and every member will need their own competition kit (show jacket, riding hat, boots etc.)
Dates and Times:
Trials 2019: 10th October (Flat Trials) Each person rides 4 different horses within an hour. Those sucessful will be asked to attend following weeks 2nd round of trials.
16th October (Jumping) Each person takes part on a course of around 8 jumps measured at 80-85cm on one horse.
Team selection will take place in early October
Social riding commences early October
Regular team riding: Tuesday late afternoon-early evening
Social lessons: Wednesday afternoons
