Brief Description of Club:
The squash club competes in both local and BUCS team leagues, whilst students are encouraged to partake in individual competitions.
The squash club’s outgoing professional coach puts forward extensive training plans to suit each player which encompasses team, group, and individual squash training with fitness, and strength and condition sessions.
The many club members the squash club already has ensured a social environment both inside and outside the squash setting, with plenty of social events for all members to take part in, including competing in both team and individual competitions across the country.

Training, Matches and Venues:
Team training is run by Level 4 squash coach and professional player, Liam Gutcher.
The dates and times which you can attend training is dependent on which team you are in. One to one training with Liam is encouraged, the date and time of this individual training will be tailored to suit your schedule.
Reactional players who want to improve their game, meet new players and perhaps break into competitive squash are encouraged to partake in open training sessions that take place at our social squash nights, days TBC.
The squash club has 4 men’s and 2 Ladies teams which play every Wednesday with the exception of the women’s 1st team.
The University has 4 Squash teams running in the Northumberland squash leagues, the 1st team is in the premier division and play out of our sport centre courts on Thursdays, with other teams playing on fixtured weekdays.
Sport scholarships are available for talented squash players at a junior county level or above who could make a significant impact on the current BUCS teams. Applications can be made through the sport centre website:
