Brief Description of Club Activities
Newcastle University Squash Club enters the 2017-18 season with 5 teams competing in BUCS, as well as 3 teams competing in the Northumbria Squash Leagues.
Last year we were one of the top contributors of BUCS points as well as having our most successful ever season. We also had success inthe Northumbria Squash Leagues, winning the Premier Division League and Cup, as well as the Division 2 League and the Division 4 League and Cup.
Our results for the 2017-18 season are as follows:
Men's 1st -
6th in BUCS Premier League, Last 8 of the BUCS Championship,
Winner of the Northumbria Squash Premier Division
Men's 2nd -
1st in Northern 2B, Winners of the BUCS Conference Cup,
Winner of the Northumbria Squash 1st Division
Men's 3rd -
4th in Northern 3B,
5th place in the Northumbria Squash 1st Division
Men's 4th -
4th in Northern 4B
Women's 1st -
3rd in Northern 1A, semi-finalists in the BUCS Trophy
Women's 2nd -
4th in Northern 2B
We are always looking for talented and dedicated squash players to add to our performance squad.
Meeting Days, Times and Venues
We have a number of small group training sessions running through the week, as well as S&C Training with Newcastle University Sports Centre and a weekly team session with former World #6 and England Captain Bryan Beeson.
Training takes place at: The Northumberland Club, Jesmond NE2 3JU
Pre-Requisites for new members (e.g. previous experience, basic certificate, etc)
We are limited to a squad of 35 men and women. Players must have attended trials, unfortunately we will not be able to cater for beginngers this year.
Unfortunately due to BUCS and Northumbria Squash Leagues formats, we are only able to accept new players during the official ranking windows (start of October and end of January).
