Brief Description of Club Activities

Do you enjoy swimming, cycling or running? Well look no further, at Team Newcastle University we offer all three!

We are incredibly inclusive and friendly society where it doesn’t matter if you’ve never even thought about competing. None of our training is compulsory, you can come to as many or as few sessions as you wish but the more you come to the more fun you’ll have! There are no try-outs and we hope to cater for everyone from novice to experienced. All we ask of you is to bring your own energy, enthusiasm and road bike if you have one!

FRESHERS’ SESSIONS – COME TRI IT OUT!
In order to help you get a feel of what great things we have to offer! We’ve organised a series of events aimed at welcoming new members, no matter what year at uni.

Tuesday 29/9- Evening run, all socially distanced of course. Setting off from the sports centre at 6:30pm. A great way to have a chat with some new members.

Wedensday 30/9- A HIT session in Exhibition Park! Meet outside the sport centre at 6pm

Friday 23/10 – Another evening run around the city, meeting at the sports centre at 6:30pm

Saturday 24/10– Meet the Committee and so much more - Zoom meeting at 2pm, watch our facebook and insta for more info

Sunday 25/10– Taster ride starting at 11 am at the sports centre.

Meeting Days, Times and Venues 
NORMAL TRAINING
We offer at least one session every day of the week! Training is structured so that you can push yourself as much or as little as you wish. Triathlon isn’t just about the training; we hope to offer you a social environment of likeminded people with various events from nights out on the toon to dinners and potlucks with friends.

Meeting Days, Times and Venues - these may change a bit before the start of term and week to week, but updates are always communicated on our private Facebook page.

Monday - Spin/S&C 7-8am @University Sports Centre/Virtual. Swim 8:30-9:30pm @Royal Grammar School.
Tuesday – Run session 6:30pm. Swim 8:30-9:30 @RGS.
Wednesday - S&C 7-8am @Sports Centre. Short ride/Brick 2pm
Thursday - Run session 6pm
Friday – Spin/S&C 5-6pm @University Sports Centre/Virtual
Saturday -Parkrun 9am. Swim 10-11am @RGS
Sunday - Swim 9-10am @RGS. Long Ride (+/- cafe stop) 11:15am onwards.

Socials, breakfasts and more to be organised by our social sec and welfare officer!

P.S. Do not worry if you don’t have a bike. 75% of our training is without the use of one. It helps to have one, but it is not the be all and end all. If you join, like the training and want to get a bike then we can direct you to the best bike bargains!
