Water Polo

Brief Desciption of Club Activities

Newcastle University Water Polo Club provides its members with the opportunity to play Water Polo at development and competitive levels, giving everyone the opportunity to train and compete in Water Polo through 2 Men's and 2 Women's teams entered in the BUCS leagues. Strength and conditioning training is also run for 1st team squad members.

Additionally we have arguably the most socially active club at Newcastle, including weekly socials, nights out on Wednesdays and a number of large events throughout the year.


Training Times and Venues

Monday:  7.00 p.m. - 8.15 p.m. (Women's) Royal Grammar School
Monday:  8.15 p.m. - 9.30 p.m. (Men's) Royal Grammar School 
Tuesday:  9.00 p.m. - 10.30 p.m. Northumbria Sports Central Pool (Alternate weeks for Men and Women)
Wednesday: 7.00 p.m. - 8.30 p.m. Royal Grammar School (Alternate weeks for Men and Women)
Friday: 8.30 p.m. - 9.30 p.m. Royal Grammar School (Alternate weeks for Men and Women)
Sunday: 5.30 p.m. - 7.30 p.m. (Women's) Northumbria Sports Central Pool
Sunday:  7.30 p.m. - 9.30 p.m. (Men's) Northumbria Sports Central Pool
**Tuesday:  7.00 p.m. - 8.00 p.m. or 8.00 p.m. - 9.00 p.m. (1st Squads only) Newcastle University Sports Centre Strength and Conditioning Room

Pre-Requisites for new members

No previous experience needed, strong swimming ability is advised and must be able to tread water.
