Brief Description of Club Activities

One of the most successful Performance Sports clubs at Team Newcastle, with several international level athletes and coaches who work with beginners and advanced fencers alike.

For the 2017/18 season we will fielded 6 teams (3 Men's and 3 Women's), continuing the successes from last year. Highlights include:

Men's and Women's 1st Teams competing in Premier North, with the Men's Team placing in the top 3 and Women's in the top 5;
Women's 2nd and 3rds both competing in North 1A;
Men's 2nd Team finishing 2nd and Men's 3rd Team finishing 5th in Northern 2B.

The Club also saw individual success at BUCS 2017 with:

Top 3 finish in Women's Epee;
Top 8 finish in Men's Sabre; and
Top 16 finish in Men's Epee.

The Club is open to anyone: we cater for all 3 weapons and all abilities are welcome.

Beginners: Bring trainers, tracksuit bottoms, long socks and a water bottle.

Squad: British Fencing Association membership required for all members who wish to fence in BUCS matches.

All fencing specific items will be provided.

Meeting Days, Times and Venues

Trials: 25th September and 2nd October, Newcastle Fencing Centre 7-9pm. Meeting at Monument Metro 6.20pm for anyone unsure where the Fencing Centre is.
