Newcastle University Students’ Union (NUSU) offers an exciting opportunity for two current or recently graduated students who are keen to kick start their career in marketing and communications.
The 2 part-time Social Media Assistant posts will play a key role in delivering campaigns across NUSU’s social media channels. The 15-hour contracts are designed to fit around your studies giving you an ideal way to gain essential experience and enhance your CV.
Based within the Digital & Communications team you will work closely with the Communications Campaign Co-ordinator to develop campaign plans and deliver campaign objectives. You will lead on the creation of NUSU’s social media content including:
- Compiling design assets
- Capturing video footage
- Writing social media captions
- Liaising with NUSU departments, clubs and societies to collate content
- Schedule posts across all NUSU social media channels
- Collate campaign analytics
Along with the rest of the Communications Department your overarching aims will be to create appealing content, increase communication engagement across NUSU channels and maintain our high student satisfaction rating.
NUSU is a charity run by students for students. Led by our Sabbatical Officer team we run many campaigns throughout the year to promote our services and campaign on important student issues. While we work closely with the University, we are two separate organizations. The NUSU building is used by thousands of students daily. It is a vibrant space consisting of a live music venue, bar, supermarket, merchandise shop, food outlets, study spaces and so much more. The Digital & Communications Team is located within the Student Union building.
We are looking for an individual who is confident in using social media, copywriting and is a confident communicator. Previous experience in video production and graphic design would be an advantage. The posts are ideal for someone studying marketing, PR or business studies.
