Meet your new 2022/2023 Faith or Belief Officer

We are delighted to announce that Muneer Obeidat has been elected to the role of NUSU Faith or Belief Officer. Muneer won the election following the first round of voting and will take up the role in the Summer joining:

  • Hasab Osman (Student Parents, Guardians & Carers Officer)
  • Anisha Arya (International Students' Officer)
  • Iori Fraser (Marginalised Genders Officer)
  • Lauren Gilbert (Disability Officer)
  • George Wood (LGBTQ+ Officer)
  • Sami Ahmed (BAME Officer)

as part of the NUSU Liberation Officer team for 2022/23.

The Faith or Belief Officer role is reponsible for representing students with a faith or belief by actively seeking their feedback and being their student voice. They may do this by attending NUSU and University meetings, running campaigns, speaking to students and working with relevant societies to ensure their voice is strong. They will also work closely with the other Liberation Officers and NUSU's Welfare & Equality Officer to provide representation, advice and awareness to all students from underrepresented groups.

Thank you to Damalie Kayondo, Suhail Masthan and Lizzie Meads who also contested the election.

On behalf of everyone at NUSU we would like to wish Muneer all the best in the role!
