This Months Winners are Speech and Language Therapy!
The committee have been working SO hard this month to ensure our members receive both quality and quantity.
We have met all three of our aims: Fundraising, Socials and Education.
Period Poverty Pub Quiz - The Red Box Project were so impressed with our donation (over 150 boxes of tampons and pads) and it was done in such a fun way - an amazing Pub Quiz which over 80 people attended!
Welfare Social - members have been invited to a free event where they will have access to free refreshments (tea, coffee, donuts!) which is taking part in our building at lunchtime (13/11/18). Many members are unavailable in an evening or can't afford to take part in other activities - so we are trying to support everyone!
Inflataspace - this aims to be an ultra fun social and promote that drinking socials aren't the only option!
Specialisms Evening - this is being held for free to our members. They will get to "speed date" with Specialist SLTs who all work in different areas. This is to raise awareness and let members know what their potential options are after the course.
Makaton Training - this is being held at a subsidised cost for members. Makaton is essential for working with people with Learning Disabilities/Autism - which is often a caseload we work with on placement. Currently, Makaton training is not offered on our course but it can be vital to supporting our clients understanding!
The members are happy, the staff are impressed and the committee should be so proud of what we have achieved this term!
