Drop off points were located across campus including at the Students' Union, Architecture Building, Urban Scinces Building and the Herschel. But It wasn’t just about the donations - lots of activity took place including a bake sale, sandwich making, a fundraising social and a sponsored run.
The Society also held a sponsored 5k Santa Dash fun run to raise donations for the Shoebox Appeal.
The donations came flooding in from all across campus.
A wrapping session took place with support from Go Volunteer and over 100 boxes filled with Christmas gifts were given out to people experiencing homelessness in Newcastle. Extra donations came in after the wrapping deadline and they will be given out by student volunteers during Student Volunteer Week in February.
