Helping our Homeless Society: Upcoming Events

Shoe boxes galore! Get involved and support the homeless!

NUSU’s Helping Our Homeless Society will be giving out the extra donations left over from the Christmas Shoe Box Appeal as well as getting involved in Student Volunteer Week.

The activities they have lined up includes:


Support a Local Homeless Charity in Organising Donations

Tuesday 12th February, 5-7pm, Destiny’s Streetworx Storage Organisation.

Student Street Outreach Hand Out

Wednesday 13th February, 5pm-7pm, Newcastle City Centre

We will be handing out donations such as toiletries and food left over from the Shoebox Appeal to homeless individuals in Newcastle City centre. Please email Lucy Butcher ( for more information.


Street Handout with Destiny’s Streetworx

Saturday 16th February 8-10pm, Meeting outside Five Guys on Northumberland Street

We will be handing out hot drinks, clothing food and essentials to homeless individuals in the centre of Newcastle. Please email Lucy Butcher ( for more details on the event.
