With sessions to help bust stress, free fruit and resources across campus we want to help you study smarter, live better, get active and make sure you know how to access extra support should you need it.


We have physical resources and freebies available at:

Throughout the exam period we are alos hosting a number of stress busting activities that you can take advantage of and let off steam.

Free Stress Busting Massages

The man, the myth, the legend: Wan will be around campus to offer free massages throughout  the exam period. Ask Wan for a light head or neck massage to relieve your exam stress.

Come and see Wan at these times and in these places between Monday 20 May and Friday 7 June:

  • Mondays 4-6pm Philip Robinson Library (foyer)
  • Tuesdays 4-6pm Marjory Robinson Library Rooms (foyer)
  • Wednesdays 12-3pm Students’ Union
  • Wednesdays 4-6pm Robinson Library (foyer)

All Wan's massages are free and dished out on a first-come first-served basis.

Tai Chi Taster - Good Health of Body and Mind?

Come and try your hand at the ancient Chinese art of Tai Chi with qualified instructor Mel Richardson. These introductory sessions are being run to allow our students to learn more about this ancient path to Good Health of Body and Mind.

Before you know it, you'll have mastered the ‘Crane cools its wings’, ‘Shoot tiger with bow’ and ‘Golden Rooster stands on one leg’. Join us on:

All sessions are taking place 12.15-1.15  in the Planning Room, Level 1 NUSU

Each session costs £1 per student.


Recreational Badminton sessions, aimed at keeping your costs down, whilst creating a fun, social & competitive offer that allows all to play. Equipment provided and ambassadors on hand to support those that need it. Dates include:

Each session will be 5-7pm in the Sports Hall, Newcastle University Sports Centre.

Each session costs £1 per student.

Robinson Library Petting Zoo

Take a break from revision at the Robinson Library and meet a wide variety of animals from Animal Antics. The Petting Zoo will take place on Wednesday 22 May between 2-3pm. No need to sign up, just head on down. 


Whether you want to get back into Squash or pick up a racket for the first time, our Rock up & Play Squash is the perfect opportunity for you. We've got court time booked and equipment to use (or bring your own), our sports assistants will be on hand to ensure you make the most of your time on court.The dates for Squash are:

All sessions are 6-8pm. You need to meet at Eldon Leisure Centre (Reception), Grey's Quarter, NE1 7XY. Each sesion is £1 per student.


Need to get away from those studies? New to Yoga; Not done it for ages; Wondering: Don’t you have to be flexible? What’s it all about? Ujaii breath-what’s that? Down-dog? Beginners Yoga with Sally will replace the fear of the unknown. We'll prodvide everything you need, simply bring your open mind. We have sessions on:

Meet a Guide Dog in the Students’ Union.

On Wednesday 5 June, Guide Dogs UK are bringing along puppies and dogs to help you have a de-stress break between revision and exams. By donating £3 to Guide Dogs UK you can book your slot here. Book now to avoid dissapointment.
