Christmas Post Pals - Elf Mail

Spread some Christmas joy!

This year Post Pals are looking for volunteers to write letters or cards from Elves or Mrs Clause. Would you be up to the challenge?

If you would like to take part, please email Fran at volunteerpw4.union@ncl.ac.uk with your name and student ID number. Fran will then give you all the details about how to get started.

If you’re writing as an elf, tell the children how busy you have been this year, and how excited you are for Christmas Eve. Tell them about the North Pole and Santa’s workshop. What about the other elves? Does everyone sing Christmas songs while they are making and sorting toys? What about the naughty and nice list? What do elves like to eat and drink? Tell some elf jokes, after all they like to get up to mischief!

If you’re writing from Mrs Clause, why not include Santa’s favourite hot chocolate or cookie recipe, (keep in mind your Pal’s abilities). Do you have to keep the elves in check? Who are your favourite reindeers? How are you helping Santa prepare for Christmas Eve?

Have fun and be creative!

If you would like to write a handwritten letter, all you need is a pen and paper! You can be as crafty as you like- print some pictures, include stickers- it's up to you! Why not draw a picture and have your Pal draw one? They can brighten up a hospital wall and make the child smile.

There is also the option to send an email to your Pal. Write your email, address it to palemail@postpals.co.uk and make the email subject your Pal’s name so it can be directed correctly.

If you are feeling digitally creative, why not make a Christmassy design using the free online tool Canva? There are lots of Christmas elements and designs to add that extra bit of sparkle. You can send your letter as an attachment PDF via email or print it out and send it via mail.

If you would like us to share your letter/ design on social media, send a picture of what you make to Fran at volunteerpw4.union@ncl.ac.uk or tag us on social media.
